If you’re working with soil that needs some love and attention, look no further than our 3-Way Mix. Teeming with peat moss, compost and sand, incorporating this mix will loosen existing hard soil and revitalize existing grass. It's a great way to bring your garden back to life, but please note, it does not contain black soil so cannot be used as a garden starter. Many of our customers buy a few of our 30-litre bags to blend and refresh the soil in their planters from last year.
The peat moss will absorb and retain moisture, which helps to break up compacted soil; the sand provides drainage and keeps the soil loose; and the compost brings some much needed fertilizer back to the soil.
This blend includes spent mushroom compost, which is comprised of hay, straw bedding and poultry litter. It does not include cow manure. We steam treat the mushroom compost to eliminate pests, pathogens and weed seeds, and then incorporate it for its absorption ability and inhibition of artillery fungus. It exhibits no nitrogen draw down problems.
