Pink Sauce Recipe - HowToCookThat : Cakes, Dessert & Chocolate (2024)

Pink sauce blew up on tiktok mid year and then the controversy that followed spun out of control. In this video lets look at what is true and what was straight out false. And I’ll figure out the recipe for you using only the ingredients on the packet.

One of the claims against pink sauce was that the recipe was not possible using only the ingredients not he packet. Here is a recipe that works perfectly – using the ingredients listed on the packet. As mentioned in the video the flavour of the recipe will vary depending on what spices you use. Dragon fruit has such a mild flavour that you will not notice it.

1/2 cup frozen dragon fruit, defrosted (or 5 teaspoons of powdered dragon fruit and 1/2 cup water)
10 tsp vinegar
6 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp citric acid
1/2 tsp honey (more if you like it sweet)
2 tsp powdered milk

Spices (vary these to make your ranch taste how you want)
1 tsp mustard powder
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp dried chives
1/4 tsp dried dill
1/2 tsp powdered garlic
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt
powdered chilli (amount depends how spicy you want it to be)

1 cup sunflower seed oil or safflower oil or similar bland vegetable oil.

Place all ingredients except the oil in a blender. Once combined with the blender still running slowly drizzle in the oil. Pour into clean jars. Sauce can be stored in the fridge for a few days. Please note the bright pink colour fades to a paler apricot pink so it is better to make small batches fresh as needed.

As I researched for this video I was struck by the momentous amount of hostile and seething comments directed at chef Pii on every social media account that she owns. I was reminded of a story that I read about a cafe owner in Melbourne whose cafe was named as a covid hot-spot during the first wave in Australia. Someone who was covid positive had visited their cafe and therefore anyone else who visited it that day had to go and get tested. The owners recounted being relentlessly attacked on social media. People accused them being dirty and unhygienic. There were many other comments blaming them for the lockdowns. Even two years on they talked about this barrage of comments as one of the hardest times in their lives. Not only was their business effected, but they felt as though the whole community had turned against them. Hopefully with this example you can see that the claims rallied against them were completely untrue, but the hostility still had a profound impact on them mentally.

I am sure that you are not the type to just write uneducated rants in the comments, berating people about a topic that you have never studied. But just in case you’ve been tempted, take a moment to think twice. Ponder how you could you raise your concerns in an intelligent way, showing care for the person on the receiving end. Even if you don’t like the person. They are responsible for who they are and what they do. But you are responsible for who you are, including how you act towards them.

I found this video on Snapchat of someone showing how to make a birthday cake teddy bear cookie dip, which I cannot imagine not being aimed at kids, and from what I gathered from the video is that they tell people to mix raw dry cake mix into the dip. And then immediately dip cookies into it. Wouldn’t the flour be terrible for the stomach.
Hope the video I attached goes through if not I’ll try to link it. Hope you might see this ☺️🌸,
    And happy new year

Great video. I disagree with the end about the the girl on the show. That girl probably never sent the product to be tested and just saw it as an opportunity to cash in on a trend. The fact that she is upset bc the inventer didn’t ‘reach out to her sounds very narcissistic and childish to me. Why would you seek out your haters? She fidnt reach out to the chef? I think that was what chef was trying to say when she said ‘ you’re not special.
Again, great video- so much info and great analysis.

I don’t think it’s nice to tell someone to their face that they’re not special but I mostly agree with M she could’ve said it in a nicer way, but she was getting her point across if she had truly tried to get it, tested professionally, and re-search how to do it then I would feel differently
