NEW! BMV 20-day Reminder/Suspension letter for multi-year vehicle registrations
New Self-Service Kiosk Locations
For your vehicle testing convenience, three new Self-Service Kiosk locations began operating at the sites below. This will expand 24 hour/7 days a week self-service testing to 18 locations. Locating this service near registrar offices also speeds up plate transfers and vehicle registrations. Visit https://www.ohioecheck.info/pages/self-service-kiosk to find the closest kiosk and for other testing locations go to ohioecheck.info, or call 1.800.CAR.TEST for any further questions.
The new self-service E-Check kiosks are located at:

The easy-to-use kiosks are open 24/7 and take users through the simple step-by-step process of testing vehicle emissions. Ohio EPA has worked with the E-Check contractor, Envirotest, to make this process quick and easy. Once testing is complete, the kiosk will print a vehicle inspection report that can be used for vehicle registration or plate transfer.
E-Check Station Closings: In the event of extended power outages or extreme winter weather/snow storms, please check for possible station closings/updates.
What years to be tested:
Ohio's vehicle test program requires emissions testing for vehicles from four through 25 years old. In 2024, the vehicles from even model years 2000 through 2020 will be tested using the Onboard Diagnostics Second Generation (OBDII) test (a computer scan test).
