Star Wars: The Acolyte highlights Disney's June streaming lineup.

By Charlie Ridgely

June is almost two weeks away, but Disney+ is getting a head start on the new month by letting subscribers know what they can expect to see added to the streamer's lineup. This week, Disney+ unveiled the complete list of movies and TV shows being added to its roster over the month of June and there's plenty to look forward to.

There are really two major programs hitting Disney+ throughout the month of June, both of which are ongoing TV shows. The newest iteration of Doctor Who recently kicked off and has been available exclusively on Disney+ in the United States. The release of new episodes from the series will continue all throughout the month of June.

The big new title arriving this month is Star Wars: The Acolyte, which is the latest live-action Star Wars series from Lucasfilm. Showrunner Leslye Headland's take on the galaxy far far away takes place at the end of the High Republic Era, which has only been present in books and comics to this point. The Acolyte kicks off with a two-episode premiere on June 4th.
