Chemeketa Library News BlogChanged!
January 25, 2017
It has been brought to attention that some of the advertisem*nts in our WordPress blog are of an offensive and untrustworthy nature. As we cannot control the content of the ads, we have switched the Chemeketa blog to another platform.
News items will still appear on the library home page. You can find our new blog at http://libraryguides.chemeketa.edu/blog.

If you are affected please email reference to report access problems and give your My Chemeketa user name. Librarians will reply to you with a temporary login that will work to allow access to Chemeketa electronic resources.
We apologize for this problem and hope that it will be of short duration.

Off Campus Access May FailIntermittently
January 17, 2017
Following an upgrade to the proxy server that allows off-campus access to Chemeketa’s databases, we have experienced some intermittent cases of users receiving a “not permitted” message. A few minutes later the database link may work normally.
We have requested support from Chemeketa’s IT department, and are researching this problem to try to determine just what is causing the interruption of proxy service. In the meantime, if you receive such a message, here are a couple of things you can try:
- wait a short time and try again
- clear the browser cache and re-try
- use the resource on a campus computer
If you continue to experience inability to access the resources, please→ let us know:
- the name of the resource you are trying to access (for example Films on Demand)
- when you tried to access it
- If it is an article, please give the author, title, and journal. We may be able to send you a copy of the article.
We very much regret the inconvenience and frustration this is causing and hope that we’ll be able to resolve it soon.

Login May SufferProblems
November 16, 2016
The following notice has been issued our IT department. Please be aware that logging into My Chemeketa, library databases, and into the libray search may be affected temporarily.
I want to share with you a developing situation with our Single Sign-On (SSO) service. If you are unaware of what SSO is, it’s the webpage you are directed to when you are login to many of the college’s systems. It is a feature that allows one to move in-between all of these systems without being required to login to each system individually.
Theproblem we are experiencing is that SSO is periodically crashing (not displaying the above webpage) with a downward trend. We have been in contact with vendor’s support team and have determined the best and fastest path to a stable SSO system is to completely replace the current server. We have weighed our options and have begun the process of building a new and more robust SSO system. This is a very in-depth and detailed endeavor that we believe we will be able to place in to production by the end of week. In the meantime, we will do our best to maintain the current system, but this means there will be times the webpage will not display. In order to get around this, just attempt to reload the page a minute or two later. There is no need to contact the helpdesk about this situation as we are aware of the situation and we are actively working it.
Thank you for your understanding as we work diligently to resolve this issue.
